Planning Permission in Notting Hill for Basement Extension with Pool

Monday, February 3, 2020

Dyer Grimes Architecture are delighted to announce that we have been granted planning permission in Notting Hill for a full interior reconfiguration, basement extension and roof conversion of this 9,000 sqft Building of Townscape Merit.

This substantial Victorian detached family house lies in RBKC’s Pembridge Conservation Area, which has strict policies for the appearance of any home seeking planning approval.

By using matching materials and designs that either replicate the existing architecture or that of the neighbouring house, we have been able to generate a design that substantially increases the available space of the house without straying from its defined period aesthetic.

The most significant increase in floor space comes courtesy of a new basement floor, which extends slightly into the garden. This new floor will provide a pool, gym and cinema room.

At the front, a modern glazed canopy matching the neighbouring property will provide additional kerb appeal while providing a dry run to the front door on rainy days.
