Planning permission for full plan basement in Fulham Conservation Area

Dyer Grimes Architecture is delighted to have received planning approval to excavate a full plan basement beneath an end-of-terrace Victorian property in the Central Fulham Conservation Area.

Basements are a contentious issue in tightly packed residential areas such as Fulham, but Hammersmith and Fulham Council were convinced by our stellar track record of ambitious and completely safe basement developments across London’s most challenging boroughs.

Along with a new basement floor will be complete internal renovations, replacement of all windows with conservation style, timber-framed, double glazed windows and the construction of a rear flat-roof extension with grey metal Crittall windows and doors.

The extended ground floor will house an open plan kitchen and living space, while the basement will hide a gym, sauna, wine cellar and state of the art home cinema underground. Mechanical ventilation and light wells will keep this floor feeling bright and fresh.

All together, the new space will almost double the available floor space for our clients, providing an incredible increase in both the utility and value of the property.
