Planning Permission to Extend Richmond Riverside Building of Townscape Merit
Dyer Grimes Architecture are delighted to announce that we have received planning permission to extend a Building of Townscape Merit on the Richmond riverside, as well as convert the lower ground floor from a commercial unit to residential and combine it with the rest of the home.
The property comprises half of a prominent Victorian villa with direct access to the Thames path through a generous and well established garden. As it is a BotM, in the Richmond Hill Conservation Area and the Richmond Archaeological Priority Area, we worked closely with heritage and archaeology specialists to ensure our designs are sympathetic to the history, context and setting of the building.
This is most apparent in the extension, which will be built from yellow brick with red brick arched lintels over the timber-framed bi-fold doors to match the architectural style of the original building. Once built, it will be difficult to tell that it had not been there all along.
