Restoration of Building of Townscape Merit Wimbledon

DGA have won a new commission to refurbish and extend a Building of Townscape Merit in Wimbledon Village to create a stunning 8,000sqft new home for our client.

The house was built in 1899 has been altered over the years, providing opportunities to appease conservation officers by restoring original features while making sympathetic additions of our own.

Our brief is to design a new side extension, rear glazed extension and excavate a basement with an indoor swimming pool, in addition to overall restorations of the house to restore its former glory.

We will be working closely with Merton’s conservation planning officers to negotiate modern changes to the historic fabric, with an emphasis on bringing far more light into the home through generous glazing in the rear.

This project is still in the earliest stages of pre-planning discussions, but we hope to share more news soon. Click here to see our latest planning permissions in Wimbledon.
